Living Lands collaborated with The City of Red Deer to develop the city’s pollinator parks. In 2015 the city designated four of its existing parks to be transformed into pollinator parks. Living Lands was chosen to design the pollinator gardens and pollinator hotels located in three of these parks; Bower Ponds, Snell Gardens and City Hall Park. Living Lands was further engaged by The City of Red Deer to assess the existing indigenous pollinator habitat features in Maskepetoon Park, the fourth new pollinator park. We found that excellent habitat was present throughout the park. In order to preserve and strengthen the area, this information was shared with the public through the production of the Maskepetoon Pollinator Park Map. The pollinator garden details can be seen at the City of Red Deer’s Pollinator Pal link below.
